Sobriety as a Sacred Act of Self-Love

MeBWBeachWalkSmile
I used to be addicted to toxic relationships with unhealthy people. I also used to be addicted to sugar, bread and alcohol.

I cut my bread addiction (which was really a gluten-allergy which was really a glyphosate toxin response) 23 years ago.
I quit my sugar-addiction 17 years ago.
In April, I celebrated 9 years sober from alcohol.
And it’s been 7 years since I was in any type of toxic, unhealthy relationship.

What I’ve discovered, surprising as it is, is that Sobriety is not a boring path for people who “can’t control themselves” – it’s actually a radical act of Self-Love on a Sacred path.

Sobriety can actually be one of the sexiest experiences in this life – because without your addiction of choice – you must create a whole new world, filled with new people, new hobbies, new patterns, and more. You are able to step into the vibrancy and vitality that Life truly has to offer you.

And while change is terrifying for most humans, once you actually let yourself shift – you find yourself living a life beyond your wildest dreams.

I’m going to talk about sobriety as a Sacred path, a path of Self-Love next week in my free spiritual training class: Sober is Sacred (& Sexy!).

BTWs, I allways thought an “addict” was someone living on the street or barely getting by in life. Turns out your addictions can manifest at various different levels of intensity and frequency. Some examples of this are repetitive:

  • Negative thoughts and self-talk
  • Toxic relationships
  • Cigarette use
  • Ayahuasca and other plant ceremonies use beyond a 1-time help during an intense breakdown
  • Social media/Internet/p*rn – you know you should stop looking, but you can’t
  • Comparison addiction
  • Self-pity and self-deprecation
  • Binge eating
  • Sugar
  • Alcohol
  • Obsessions of any kind

Addiction is an interesting phenomenon to observe (and be a part of). In my 16 years of working with humans 1:1, I haven’t met one without some form of active addiction, it’s just a matter of how exposed these imbalances are in their day-to-day life (even to themselves).  Because addictions are things we’re not proud of, most humans work very hard to hide them.

Let’s step out of the shadows and into the Light together to explore Sobriety as a Sacred Path!

I’ll see you June 11 at 11:11amPST here.
