Valentine’s Day Flourless Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Vegan Frosting – Oh My!

Chocolate Cake

Since the times when the Aztecs were drinking chocolate, it’s been known – chocolate has it’s own special aphrodisiac qualities.

Chocolate is so consciousness altering, I try to make sure I don’t have any before doing energy medicine healing sessions or before I lead a group.

It not only gives our brains a boost of yummy happiness hormone serotonin, it also expands our energy field, making us more open and receptive.

And so, it was only appropro for me to create this vegan, sugar-free, gluten-free (of course) flourless chocolate cake, complete with rich, decadent frosting on top.

This cake is best eaten hot, right out of the oven AND it’s also really over-the-top delish the next day after you’ve had it in the fridge all night.

My husband and I discovered that our flourless chocolate cake turned into a delightful fudge over night.

So this recipe is like 2 desserts in one!

Chocolate Cake Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Artisan Kettle organic sugar-free chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup vegan butter, recommend Miyoko’s
  • 3/4 cup Wholesome Zero sweetener
  • 1/2 t organic sea salt
  • 2 t organic vanilla extract
  • 3 large, farm fresh or organic eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c organic cacao powder, recommend Holykakow
  • 8×8 glass pan – round or square – coat with coconut oil.

Chocolate Frosting Ingredients:

  • 1/4 c same chocolate chips as above
  • 1/4 c vegan cream cheese, recommend VioLife
  • 1/4 c vegan butter
  • 2/3 c Swerve confectioners sugar

Step one: Preheat oven to 375.

Step two: For the cake, melt the chocolate chips and butter in a small saucepan on the stovetop at medium-low heat until smooth. You don’t want the chocolate to burn, so stay right there with it, stirring constantly.

Step three: Then pour the chocolate and butter mixture into a medium-sized bowl and mix in with the rest of the cake ingredients until it forms a smooth batter consistency.

Step four: Pour into an 8×8 round or square glass pan that’s been oiled. Bake for 30 minutes.

Step five: For the frosting: Melt the chocolate chips, cream cheese and butter in a small saucepan on the stovetop at medium-low heat until smooth.

Step six: Pour this frosting mixture into a smaller bowl and whisk in the confectioners sugar until a frosting consistency is formed.

Step seven: Once the cake is out of the oven, let cool for 5 minutes so it’s not molten lava hot in your mouth. ๐Ÿ™‚ Then, top with the warm and yummy frosting.

Step eight: Move the pan to your sacred spot with your beloved, bless the cake and dig in. This is a super rich experience so a little goes a long way.
