When I had my second spiritual awakening in 2015, I stopped eating breakfast and was regularly engaging in intermittent fasting without even realizing it.
Eating traditional breakfast at a traditional time has since fallen completely by the wayside and instead I eat whenever my body let’s me know it’s hungry, which is now about 16-22 hours after my meal from the night before.
And while intermittent fasting is all the rage right now, it will pass and something “new” will be the next hot fad.
However, I do encourage you to make intermittent fasting a regular part of your experience – as it gives your body time to heal, repair and detox. And when your body is in this state, you have clearer access to your intuition & The Divine.
Major insights, breakthroughs and clarity often come during fasting times for many. Your dreams become more detailed as your subconscious and superconscious mind can work without interruption.
Processing food is a lot of work for our bodies, and that’s why at The Metaphysical Menu we’re committed to promoting conscious eating that supports the body-mind-Spirit connection in it’s unification and thus, thriving!
Intermittent fasting is currently receiving credit for DNA repair, reversing negative signs of aging, longevity (aka, living longer) and overall improved stamina and health.
When we’re eating from a conscious, metaphysical perspective as we are here, we want to honor what our individual body needs to thrive.
The days of 7-10 days of arduous fasting, once or twice a year, is quickly passing, as we can easily work in intermittent fasting into any day, and thus reap the massive benefits from fasting.
Letting our body be our guide so as not to overly stress our system any which way – either with too much food or going too long without any food – is a conscious and Loving way to live.
I do recommend drinking tremendous amounts of water while intermittent fasting – blessing the water beforehand of course – to increase the DNA cellular repair and overall health benefits.
And so, whenever you get the intuitive nudge for waffles – we have the healthiest and best waffle option for you!
- Birch Benders Pancake & Waffle mix is the tastiest option I’ve found for waffles.
- Make it with 1 cup of the mix, 3/4 cup blessed water, and 1.5 T (I add a little more) of organic coconut oil.
- Stir in 1/2-1 cup of frozen or fresh blueberries and/or raspberries – based on your berry preference to the mix.
- Coat your waffle iron with coconut oil (a pastry brush dipped in the oil is the best way to apply it) in between each waffle.
- Top your waffles with Coconut Nectar – a perfect syrup replacement with no negative impact on your blood sugar.
- I actually Love these waffles so much, I eat them plain with some organic butter.
- My husband goes all in and tops them with organic butter, our fave organic sugar-free raspberry jam – St. Dalfour – and coconut nectar syrup. You may also wish to top with organic almond butter followed by coconut nectar syrup too. Honor what feels best to you.
And as always, be sure to bless your waffles before enjoying them! Xo
