I’m about to share with you my absolute favorite appetizer in the world.
It’s organic, it’s simple, and it’s a vegetable too.
It’s not spicy, it’s not convoluted, and it takes about 10 minutes to prepare.
Are you in yet?
Below is my super easy, super yummy appetizer that will have your husband, wife, children, family, friends and you in app heaven.
Please note: Despite their description as a “pepper,” shishito’s are rarely spicy. Occasionally you’ll get a spicy one, but this rarely happens.
Ingredients:
- As many organic shishito peppers (preferably from a local farm) as you want. Take the amount you think you’ll need and double though – these will go fast.
- Organic coconut oil
- Jacobsen kosher sea salt (or your fave sea salt)
Step one: Wash shishitos to prepare.
Step two: Place oil in medium skillet to coat the pan on medium heat.
Step three: Place shishitos in the pan and cover, let cook for 3-5 minutes.
Step four: Turn over each shishito to its opposite side (I do this individually, but you could also flip them if you’ve got skillz like that ;)), cover and let cook for 2-4 minutes.
Step five: Once cooked through (and at the color you like – we obvi like ours more grilled as seen in the photo but you can cook them to whatever level feels right for you), remove from heat and place on a plate.
Step six: Sprinkle Jacobsen kosher sea salt over top, bless these yummy peppers and share with those you love!
