Four and a half years ago I quit drinking.
You may imagine that I spent many a night up late getting blacked-out drunk and many a morning hungover from alcohol poisoning (hint: that’s what a hangover is, you’ve been poisoned and your body is responding to the poison).
Except, I was your typical social drinker – 2-3 glasses of wine 2-3x a week.
I would let myself have four glasses max on a weekend and two during the weekday.
I rarely got wasted.
I usually got buzzed.
And I never threw up from drinking.
But, I was regularly and consistently drinking a known and socially acceptable poison…and that’s a problem.
Especially since I have a strong desire to experience the highest level of spiritual enlightenment available to me in this lifetime.
As an intuitive healer, it literally made no sense to poison myself regularly, even if it happened long outside my working hours.
And so, one day I quit. At the time I didn’t know how long I would be free of alcohol. Now, four and a half years later, I can’t imagine my life with alcohol.

- Gerolsteiner sparkling mineral water – one of the best out there and it comes in a glass bottle (sustainability for the win!).

- Gerolsteiner sparkling apple drink – this is perfect for any celebratory occasion and should definitely be poured into a champagne flute. As the former poster girl for good champagne, trust me on this, I know what I’m talking about. 😉

- Zevia ginger root beer soda – cut this with some sparkling mineral water, put it on the rocks and add a twist of lime. Also, this is perfect for root beer floats (yeah, bring the childhood fave back) with Coconut Bliss’s Infinite Coconut not-ice cream, ice cream.

- Curious Elixirs – these are pretty tangy, so I recommend doing the same here as with the Zevia – cut it with some mineral water, pour over the rocks and add a squeeze of orange or lemon.

- Live Root beer Kombucha – this is my all-time fave buch right now (Trillium Health Foods – I love you for bringing it into my life!). It’s #divine straight out of the bottle or poured into a wine glass.

- Peppermint tea latte – this is beautifully delicious with coconut milk or some of the latest dairy-free half-halfs that are now out like Califia Farms Almond Coconut Cream Creamer that are making my life even happier. (Really, that’s all it takes – dairy-free half&half.)

- Rasa latte – this is my new favorite winter drink. I drink it all day. Filled with adaptogens (they calm / soothe your nervous system) and healthy hormone goodness (balancing those hormones) – you don’t even realize you’re drinking a wellness tonic. But, you are. I LOVE this with dairy-free half&half, like the Forager Project’s half&half.
